The Butcher is one of the most iconic enemies in the world of Diablo. As a Content Creator for Blizzard and Diablo,
I created several engaging assets that played with his nightmarish, blood-thirsty reputation.
Made for the Diablo social channels on April Fool’s Day, this asset depicts an “Extreme” hard-core mode of Diablo IV where the Butcher arrives at your front door to kill the player in real life if their character dies in the game. The Butcher can be seen standing menacingly from the vantage point of a doorbell camera.
Making pieces that acknowledge tentpoles while still conforming to the world of a brand is a fun, motivating challenge. Here, The Butcher provides a recipe the Diablo audience might
want to try for their Thanksgiving meal.
